Women's political leadership is determined not only by the country's political system, but also by the legal and regulatory framework that lays down the basic principles of gender equality in society. The Kingdom of Denmark is currently a unique example of two women in power - Margrethe II and Mette Frederiksen. The Queen has been in power since 1972, Mette Frederiksen since 2019. Each of the women has gone through its own path of becoming in the role of typically "male" political positions, each developing their own femininities. Of particular interest are the models of civil and public service presented by both women in the area of political leadership during the crisis of the COVID-19 pandemic. Both female leaders have succeeded in contributing to the creation of a new "normality" and to the routinization of the gender factor in the civil service. However, these tendencies are less common in the private sector than in the Danish public sector.
