The article summarizes and critically examines the main elements of the current economic transformation associated with the transition to a new model after the COVID-19 pandemic, based on the introduction of digital technologies, the transition of many economic sectors to the online space and the accompanying processes of institutional transformations. Special attention in the article is paid to "smart technologies": the pros, cons, possible limitations, challenges and prospects are considered.
