The article deals with the evolution of the verbal aspects descriptions in Russian language textbooks for Polish pupils in the second half of the 18th century and the beginning of the 19th century. The authors of these textbooks M. Lubowicz, M. Zubakowicz, I. Brodowski, M. Butowski and J. Dworzecki relied on the M.V. Lomonosov’s conception of Russian verb, but at the same time systematized this aspectual characteristics. Their grammatical views were influenced by the Polish language textbooks of O. Kopchinsky for the Polish schools, who distinguished the perfective and imperfective groups of verbs. O. Kopchinsky, in turn, continued the traditions of Polish and Czech grammarians of the 16th - 18th centuries.
