The article emerged after translating the journal “Arctic Art & Culture” from Russian into English. Its goal is to share the experience of 100-page translation with the people concerned. The authors emphasize the translational peculiarities of the specific articles that are dedicated to the reindeer husbandry, knives, glass beads, jewellery, cinema, dances, and so on, as they contain certain terminology. The special attention is paid to the long-term and short-term planning during translation and proofreading. Several words are said about the cooperation with the Russian proofreader and a native speaker.
