The article examines the problem of teaching English historical discourse to senior pupils of gymnasia of socio-humanitarian profile. The integration within the elective course of the basic and profile subjects “English Language” and “History” represents one of the basic vectors of linguistic education development and presupposes the integrity of educational, developmental and pedagogical learning objectives with the accent on the formation of senior pupils’ personality, their spiritual development, awareness of national and cultural identity.
