Areal GPR mapping together with tacheometric survey helps to determine the direction of glacier movement, demonstrate the areas of its compression and extension, and identify the most dynamically active zones. This information gives us not only an idea of the modern structure of the glacier, but, together with borehole thermometry, forms the basis for mathematical models that can reconstruct the past of the glacier
and make a reasonable forecast of its development. The article presents the results of research carried out from late October to mid-December 2021 in the Novo Runway area, East Antarctica
