N2 - The article presents the similarities and differences in the representation of the concepts “light-darkness” and “family” that are fundamentally different, but equally significant for linguistic culture. The main attention is paid to the representation of concepts in Russian and Korean linguistic cultures, based on the analysis of folklore texts (fairy tales). The relevance of studying concepts is not lost, despite the great attention paid to them by researchers. In recent years, the comparison of Russian and Korean linguistic cultures has mainly focused on the subjective idea of the concept (using data from associative experiments). The findings presented in this article are part of a larger study of linguocultural concepts, within which equal attention is paid to research at different levels of language - from word to text. Through the study of folklore, it was possible to identify the peculiarities of the worldview of representatives of the Korean and Russian linguistic cultures, as well as to see the peculiarities of the perception of the surrounding world and to highlight the value components. The study used a descriptive method, as well as synchronic-diachronic, conceptual analysis, discourse analysis and comparative analysis.
