The article is devoted to the problem of cultural level of postal and telegraphs employees in Russian Empire in the early 20th c. In particular, the author observes this issue in the terms of opportunities and ways of spending their leisure time by those people. Such analysis is based on the materials of the special professional journal which was published during this period and was focused on the employees of communication service, i.e. «Pochtovo telegrafnyj vestnik» («Postal and Telegraph Herald»).
