The article compares and analyzes figurative parallels of the lexical units ‘thunder’ and ‘cloud’ in the ancient Slavic mythology (based on the works by Alexander N. Afanasyev) and in the Russian poetry of the 18th-20th centuries, confirming that mythological and poetic consciousnesses share some common features.
