N2 - The article is devoted to a comprehensive and integrated analysis of scientific literature on the study of the perception and reproduction of consonants in phonetic interference of these languages. Specifically, much attention is paid to the description of Chinese-Russian interference when teaching Chinese students the pronunciation of Russian palatalized consonants. The work provides a detailed review of the literature describing the phonological systems of both languages, and reveals fundamental differences in their organization and functioning. The study demonstrates that the absence in the Chinese language of a phonological opposition of hard and soft consonants creates significant difficulties for Chinese students in mastering Russian palatalized consonants. Data analysis shows that the greatest difficulties are caused by palatalized consonants in the final position and in consonant combinations where there is no support in the form of a subsequent front vowel. The scientific novelty of the work lies in the synthesis of available in different studies data on mechanisms of phonetic interference in the interaction of typologically different language systems. The practical significance of the study lies in the development of methodological recommendations for effective teaching of palatalized consonants, taking into account the specificity of the phonetic systems of both contacting languages.
