The article presents the description of communicative failure and connected to it behavioral mistakes a human being makes in the technological conditions of the third millennium. This situation takes place as the result of communicants' lack of communicative competence and their wrong understanding of communication participants' social roles. An approach to solving the problem in the classroom on the Russian language and speech culture is presented using a comprehensive analysis of Russian literary texts. The authors suggest the set of practical tasks directed to formation of such practical skills as detecting the problem and preventing it. The tasks focuses on the analytical and creative work. The tasks are of an analytical and creative nature; the story of A. P. Chekhov „On the Eve of Lent“ is used as the material. The tasks are intended for the students of nonlanguage branches of study.
