In this article, the students of Leonid Solomonovich Blyakhman attempted to analyze his contribution to the creation of the theory of industrial management at the Faculty of Economics of St. Petersburg State University, the development and entry into the modern level of one of the leading departments of the faculty - the Department of Enterprise Economics, Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Leonid Solomonovich took part in the foundation of the department together with the war veteran A. A. Markin. His pedagogical activity in management and enterprise economics, his role in shaping educational programs, and his influence on many graduate students are characterized. It is shown that he viewed perestroika as a natural stage in Russia’s development, and his textbooks of that era introduced many managers and officials to the basics of the market economy. His unique approach consisted of adapting global scientific advances to Russian cultural and economic conditions. He is remembered as a generator of ideas, including the “second industrialization” program of Russia, which has begun to be implemented today.
