The purpose of the article is to determine the sequence studying of the speech genre "riddle" in the process of learning Russian as a foreign language. The author identifies six main linguocognitive structures of this genre, proves that the most effective is the sequence of studying from gestalt structures to frames and then to riddles-scenarios as having national specificity. The process of working with riddles is based on the gradual introduction to cultural patterns that eventually form the algorithm for finding the answer.
