History of archi tecture demonstrates arti stic transformati on of structure and transition of many a traditi onal theme and motif into the area of metaphori cal meani ngs. Architecture represents an organizing force of all arts. It defi nes the pl ace, structure and functions of related products of art, graphi cs and sculpture and, therefore, architecture is not onl y a fine art but it is also an art that depicts an d transforms. The subject-matter of depiction in archi tecture are not objects of the surrounding reali ty but the most general concepts and subjecti ve experi ences of form and space, physi cal and spiritual forces, energy, aspirati ons, and fli ghts of thought in space and ti me. Architect’s thi nking i s also connected with the reali zation of the so- called open form and pri ncipl e of participati on – partnershi p between the creator and the customer, spectator, user. These features explai n the phenomenon which in the 20th–12st century, unli ke the tradi tional synthesis of arts, displays i nterpenetration of technical -aesthetic, artistic and exposition-pl ay acti vity methods. H ence foll ows the particular importance of architectoni c thi nking for all plasti c arts and current relevance of architecture-centric knowl - edge and synopti c approach combini ng many methods an d techniques of Art Studi es.
