An empirical study of the system of value ties between the youth of two historically close, but culturally different societies, namely Russia and Uzbekistan, is part of the study of the values of the youth of a number of countries that are located along the routes of the "Silk Road". The purpose of the article is to analyze the similarities and differences of the system of value relations of students under the influence of social, economic and cultural factors of market transformations in Russia and Uzbekistan. The research tool is the methodology of the network approach, which allows to diagnose the deep layers of social reality - the values and value orientations of the youth of the two countries. The Soviet past had a significant impact on the value structure of both states, however, under the influence of many factors, in particular, cultural characteristics and the effects of the market environment, the value structure of young people underwent transformations. In this regard, the network approach has a good perspective. The network approach makes it possible to cover the values of an individual, a group and society as a whole in a single methodological procedure. In practical terms, network research can be used to conduct a comparative analysis of values between different groups of young people.
