The article is devoted to the study of synonyms for stable comparisons, which are united by the feature necessary in Russian and Chinese. Comparative idioms are considered mainly in the structural-semantic aspect. This article plays the role of referring to these units from the point of view of reflecting in them the national consciousness, mentality, cultural preferences and values of the linguistic collective. The analysis was carried out using three parameters: identical or similar meaning, coincidence in the subject relatedness, the same lexical and phraseological compatibility. The similarities and differences in the use of synonymic series with respect to the base are needed in two languages. A brief description of five comparison dictionaries from which material was selected for the analysis of this material is presented.
