The paper lays the foundation to the research into the transformative impact of digital culture on language personality or language ego. The author maintains that from the viewpoint of linguodidactics, the existing Yurij Karaulov’s Model of Language Ego and Irina Khaleejva’s Secondary Language Ego are interdependent in language learning, thus, making the general concept of language ego dual in nature. On the one hand, for the Digital English course to be developed there is a need to consider modifications of the language personality in the view of the English language discourse of digital culture, on the other, to consider language egos of those who are to become the learners or consumers of the online course to be developed.
