The article makes one of the first attempts at qualitative analysis of the content of Russian party TV channels. The problems and themes of analytical TV content is assessed by the authors of the article as indicator of the contribution of the media to the organization of public discussions on topical social and political issues and a criterion for the effectiveness of promoting of the party programs. The research was based on empirical materials from the practice of the functioning of the television channels of the two oldest parliamentary parties in Russia - LDPR-TV of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia and the Red Line of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation.
