The article examines the phenomenon of the Russian language propagation within the framework of the international activities of the Pushkin Institute at the present stage. It focuses on the traditionally important place of the Russian language in the foreign policy as a part of Russia’s strategy aimed at increasing its global influence. The author pays special attention to the particular forms and programs of Russia’s foreign linguistic policy providing a critical analysis of several most efficient projects in this field.
