This research considers efficiency in vocational activity. 60 managers of one company took part in the survey. Criterions of efficiency were established by the company executives and included: level of selling, stability of level of selling, knowledge of product and results of managers’study at teaching program of the company. We studied both objective and subjective constituents of efficiency. The sample of the study was 40 females and 20 males, from 29 to 49 years old. All managers worked in one company. The level of selling was fixed during 6 months. The level of selling was different in the sample. There was 39% (23 managers) of sample with high level of selling, 37,3% (22 managers) of sample with middle level of selling and 23,7% (14 managers) of sample with low level of selling. The study provided a comparison of groups with different levels of efficiency and correlations between the level of efficiency and social-psychological characteristics of the manager. The method of the study included: “Five factor test” by MacCrae & Costa, “Emotional intellect” by Lysin, “Hardness Survey” by Madi, questioning of respondents. Math methods: descriptive statistics, multiple comparisons (Sheffe’s test), correlation analysis, chi square test. The results of investigation show that in groups of managers with different level of efficiency emotional intelligence has the different structure. Researched correlates of emotional intelligence, personality traits of manager and social-psychological characteristics show the difference between managers of the company and the role of this difference at the level of specialists’ proficiency. The results of investigation may be applied in adaptation programs and training education programs for managers.
