The author of the article suggests to study the category of species in the course of Russian grammar at the level В2 - C1, based on such categories as the aspect, limit and integrity. The productivity of this approach was tested in 2018-2019 at the foreign bachelors-philologists of the 4th year. Understanding of the interdependence of the semantics of the verb, morphological and syntactic structures significantly simplifies the procedure of selection of the verb in the context.
