The study of exam stress and stress resistance are important areas of modern pedagogy. Since any form of control should be as objective as possible, factors such as stress affecting the result should be investigated and taken into account when preparing the assessment process. The purpose of this study is to analyze the stressfulness of various forms of exam in a foreign language. In the course of the study, a survey was conducted of 77 respondents with experience in passing international exams in a foreign language. The survey showed that oral response and listening are the most stressful forms of the exam in the opinion of the students, while reading and writing tests are the least stressful. Most students feel the negative impact of distress on their exam results, but they are not experienced in stress reduction techniques. It seems important to develop a psychological and pedagogical program for increasing students’ stress resistance, which will make it possible to minimize the negative consequences of exam stress.
