The research is devoted to the development of a system of progressive taxation as an effective way to reduce economic inequality and improve the standard of living of Russian citizens. An assessment of the effectiveness of the proposed initiative in the context of the "May Decrees" of the President of the Russian Federation from 2018 is also given.
