The economic policy of Russian Government has provided a high level of employment within the economy. On the one hand, it has stimulated high rates of economic growth in 2023 and 2024. On the other hand, it has led to the depletion of labor reserves for further extensive growth, raising the issue of identifying new factors influencing labor productivity at the meso level. The article aims to identify the significance of aggregated and non–energy regional export as a factor influencing regional labor productivity. The Pearson correlation coefficient was used to determine the strength of the link between regional labor productivity and the regional export quota, which reflects the importance of export for the regional economy. As a result of the research, it was determined that the strength of the relationship between the variables is heterogeneous during the analyzed period from 2001 to 2021. However, since 2014, the relationship between the variables has been virtually absent, meaning that export is not a significant factor influencing regional labor productivity.
