Objective. The aim of the study is to develop an intraoperative algorithm for surgical safety of laparoscopic prosthetic hernioplasty as one of the most frequently performed operations in general surgery. Material and methods. The literature data regarding the incidence and nature of intraoperative, early and late postoperative complications were analysed. Laparoscopic transabdominal pre-peritoneal transabdominal hernioplasty of inguinal hernia was analysed in detail by the team of authors. The rules of safe performance of this surgical intervention were formed, on the basis of which an intraoperative check-list was created. Results. The check-list including four main stages of the operation (access, herniorrhaphy, hernioplasty, completion of the operation) with subparts was developed and the methodology of intraoperative safety algorithms formation was formed. Conclusions. Implementation of the methodology and check-list allows to prevent the occurrence and development of complications, as well as to optimise the learning curve of the surgeon.
