Understanding of the mechanisms of navigation is important in the context of media research and application in design practice. Webometric is a promising method to approach this issue, especially for the development of the functional approach to media design. In this study, we offer a comprehensive method of analyzing the effectiveness of media project navigation. This approach can play an important role in determining how the complexity of the site affects the visual attention and user behavior. In a study of usability test results are compared with webometric status of key web pages. It makes our understanding of the effectiveness of a web presence deeper.
