Scenario programming of the environment is an important aspect of modern design of public spaces. The subject of this article is to identify the speci cs of scenario modeling in interaction with the historical and cultural environment as a public space. The conducted research and analysis of domestic analogues allows us to draw the following conclusions: the variety of forms of the narrative scenario is directly dependent on the historical and cultural environment, which has a pronounced identity, image and symbolism; intuitive, eventdriven and target scenarios work in public spaces organized on the basis of the historical and cultural environment, provided that the object is actively engaged in activities aimed at attracting the attention of visitors.
