In the practice of international relations at the present stage it is essential to consider the geopolitical context. Latin America attracted the attention of researchers. The aim of this work is studying the state of political discourse of mass media of Puerto Rico, the definition of language means used in a manipulative texts with the aim of identification of the fact of manipulation to create the image of modern Russia with the description of the external policy of the country.The structure and features of the media of Puerto Rico are still poorly understood. Material for the study consists of articles published on the website www.prensalatinaescrita for the period 2019-2020 in the Central media of the capital of Puerto Rico, San Juan “El Nuevo Día” and “Primera Hora”.
