The article analyzes the reflection of experience of Soviet-Vietnamese relations on political rhetoric of current Russia - Vietnam dialogue. The research has been made on the base of speeches, statements and interviews of Russian and Vietnamese leaders at high-level summits. Events of the past have often been mentioned at these summits, but haven't dominated in agendas. Two sides (especially Vietnam) focus on positive aspect of history of Soviet-Vietnamese relations and their succession with current interaction of Moscow and Hanoi.
