Analysis of the morphology, tectonic structure and kinematics of ridges with an ultra-slow rate of spreading (<2 cm/year) including the Gakkel Ridge located in the Arctic Ocean and the Southwest Indian Ridge in the Indian Ocean made it possible to identify a number of common features and significant differences between them.
