On October 1, 2018 International Court of Justice has announced its ruling of one of the most high-profile lawsuits in the entire history of Latin American appeals to the Hague Court – Bolivia’s case, what was aiming to overcome the deadlock of Chilean-Bolivian territorial dispute. The case, unprecedented in terms of matter in question, ended after more than five years of legal proceedings in favor of Chile. The significance of this turn in the long-standing dispute needs a comprehensive assessment both in the context of the bilateral relations development and for predicting its impact at the regional and global levels of international relations.
