Based on the analysis of trends reflecting the ongoing aggravation of the resource-environmental and climatic situation, the authors evaluate the efforts counteracting these trends, undertaken at the interstate, national and micro levels. These include measures taken from the decisions of a number of relevant international conferences, including the 2015 Paris climate conference and the 2021 Glasgow conference. An assessment is made of the energy transition policy, which is designed to play one of the leading roles in the decarbonization of the economy and the reduction of global greenhouse gas emissions. Other proactive strategies for low-carbon development and mitigation of environmental and business risks are also analysed, which should be in the arsenal of advanced business and supported by the state.
