This paper presents the results of theoretical and empirical studies of the psychological context of pre-employment polygraph screening for the personnel selection into civil service. The psychological and social context considered from the point of view of the goals of the civil service, the moral and ethical issues of pre-employment polygraph screening, operations surrounding the use of the polygraph.
