At the expositions of the Peter the Great Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography (Kun-stkamera) RAS different types of mannequins are on display. They were created in the 19th - 20th centuries in Germany and Russia. The central part was constructed in the MAE to satisfy particular historical and museological tasks. Artistic merits of a select category of «ethnographic figures» are recognized by the professional community; the author Ivan. N. Khitrov was awarded the title «Honored Artist of Russia» (1995)
