The article discusses the factors contributing to the selection, systematization and presentation of terminological units of the thematic field “professional activity of academia”. Particular attention is paid to the interrelationships between the characteristics of the target audience and the principles for developing selection criteria of terminological units and introduction of these units to the users of bilingual (multilingual) dictionaries. Possible ways to implement ICT to gain experience of terminology work in professional domain are contemplated. The practical application of the results of the proposed scheme might be beneficial for improving the quality of bilingual terminological dictionaries and expanding the expertise of university staff.
