Structural design of Southern (Variscian) Tien Shan in the Eastern segment consists, south to north, of: 1) broken border of Tarim paleocontinent; 2) upper Paleozoic frontal basin; 3) volcanics and sediments of Turkestan ocean with ophiolites and some signs of nappe tectonics on initial stages of collision; 4) island arc unite (terraine) of Erben-Kumyshtala; 5) collisional suture on southern limit of Jili microcontinent, as a part of Paleokazakhstan. Collision of Erben-Kumyshtala with Paleokazakhstan border happened about Devonian/Carboniferous limit, but did not close Turkestan ocean. This event took place only at Late Carboniferous all along northern border of Tarim paleocontinent.
