The article deals with the voting specifics of Russian overseas electorate. The purpose of the article is to ground potential and perspectives for implementation of Internet voting for Russian voters either residing or traveling abroad at the elections day. Electronic government of the Russian Federation is evaluated based on the materials of national governmental bodies such as Ministry of communication and mass communications and documents of International organizations such as the United Nations Organization and the International Telecommunication Union. The author offers description and interpretation for the concept of internet voting. On the basis of current legislation the author examines peculiarities of the existing voting process organization and procedure itself. As a result advantages and risks of Internet voting implementation for Russian citizens residing overseas are identified and researched. Significance of the article: findings of the research can be applied to the recommendations elaboration for enhancing and modernization of voting process for Russian electorate based abroad as well as for the scientific and teaching purposes.
