The object of attention in the article is the peripheral zones of the lexical and grammatical characteristics of the Russian word and those units that fall into these zones, having passed as a rule the path of grammaticalization and/or pragmatization. In some cases the active elements of everyday speech do not fi nd their place even in this peripheral zone, completely go beyond the scope of lexicographic fi xation and can only be described as pragmatic markers, important in all applied aspects of linguistics
