In this paper, the inverse equilibrium traffic assignment problem is formulated. The basis of the roads user behavioral dynamics is the idea of Wardrop user equilibrium. The conception of equilibrium travel time is accentuated, and definitions of direct and inverse generalized problems are given. The paper describes various types of inverse problem operators for particular cases of network topology. There are cases when the travel demand can be uniquely obtained.
