The article discusses modern scientific approaches to researching of the teaching principles as a basic didactic
category, as fundamental requirements for the implementation of the process of foreign language training.
Classifications of principles are analyzed and critically interpreted. The purpose of the article is to select the
basic principles that should become the basis for the development of professionally oriented didactic
materials aimed at developing the linguistic and professional competence of future guide-interpreters
studying Russian in Greek universities. On the example of a textbook on the Russian language for Greek
students “I am Your guide!” the authors prove that the principles can be divided into general didactic,
psychological, linguistic and methodological. It is necessary to create nationally oriented course books that
allow solving the problem of the interaction of language and culture in the classes of Russian as a foreign
language (RCT) in a non-linguistic environment.
