The article focuses on the influence of the traditional folksong concepts on modern linguistic image of the world. Folk worldview is considered to be an integrated part of national world image and is reflected in the structure of linguistic concepts. The author carried out the association experiment to find out similarities and differences in the ways symbolic folk song concepts are presented in current English and Russian linguistic worldviews.
