The article deals with a range of problems that need to be solved in order to represent one
of the significant categories of stable units in the written monuments of the Russian language
of the 16th–17th centuries — formulas in a differentiated historical phraseological dictionary.
The definition of the term “formula” in relation to the period under consideration is given,
the structure of the dictionary entry, the system of labels of different categories are proposed.
The material for the study is the formulas of business and diplomatic documents, as well as texts
reflecting the everyday language — official and private correspondence, phrasebooks.
