Lipoma can differ from each other in the presence of a true fibrous capsule, on which sometimes depend on the feasibility of surgical treatment and its volume. In order to clarify the possibilities of echography in the detection and differentiation of the true capsule of lipoma, we analyzed echographic rims on the periphery of formations, met during the examination of 191 people with 210 primary phoneithers. 182 (86,7%) of them were encapsulated, 28 (13.3%) - diffuse. 8 (3,8%) patients were treated with elastography. All observations are verified histologically. Three types of rims around the lime be identified. It is noted that the grey-scale echography is not a reliable method in distinguishing between diffuse and encapsulated lime, and that diffuse lipomas in a sulfuric echographic image may have less clear boundaries compared to their elastographic picture
