After the coup d’états in Ukraine in the year 2014 there have appeared a lot of publications on the West which were aimed on the creation of an image of Russia as a country which threatens the whole civilized world and impedes the further distribution of Western values. In such publications Russia appears as crafty enemy which achieves its goals on the international arena by efficient combination of military and non-military, conventional and non-conventional methods. It is remarkable fact that such publications appear not only in mass-media but also in well-known scientific journals. As a result it is possible to speak about the appearance of the specific scientific stream which is targeted not on the study of Russia as a country but the hybrid threat coming from Russia. In current paper the author will try to analyze such publications.
