In this paper we justify using the lyrics of rock poetry at TRFL3 level (Russian as a foreign language). Such material is a literary text relevant and appealingto young learners. We demonstrate the high potential of significant national and cultural meanings contained in such texts. We use the poem “Vanished without a trace” to outline the major elements of the literary poetic text analysis: compositional structure and its direct dependence on the author’s opinion.
