The article is devoted to analysing occasionalisms in the novel “Everything Is Illuminated” by Jonathan Safran Foer and the peculiarities of their translation into Russian. The author aims to examine the basic problems occurring while translating these expressions and to analyse the peculiarities of their translation. The research findings include the identification of translator’s transformations used by the translator V. A. Arkanov to transfer occasionality from English into Russian. The paper for the first time provides a linguo-stylistic analysis of occasionalisms in the novel “Everything Is Illuminated” by Jonathan Safran Foer.
