The article discusses the problems of scientific reconstruction of the biography of Dmitry A. Pakhomov (1872-1924), an artist, art critic and writer. The author of the article identifies and analyzes documentary (archival documents, materials of lifetime press, exhibition catalogs, etc.) and visual (paintings, graphics, photographs) sources that can become the main scientific reconstruction of biography of Dmitry Pakhomov. Particular emphasis is placed on his art texts and literary works.
