A plaque as one of the most common signs of commemoration becomes a means of communication and transmission of information not only from one generation to another. These memorials allow us to expand the boundaries of human knowledge about the most prominent representatives of culture and events in different countries, and to mark associated memory space in the urban space of other countries. Thus, the history of the culture of different nations becomes closer to the present generation, and the lives of its representatives seem more realistic and vivid. The proposed work discusses the example of plaques in memory of Russian writers in European cities.
