Two types of Devonian-Middle Carboniferous sections represented in the N Nuratau range are considered as autochthonous (Koutash type, with dolomites, sandstones and a number of discontinuities) and allochthonous (Merishkor type, with continuous limestones). Thrust planes were folded in late Palaeozoic and have been preserved only in sinforms, not sedimentary troughs.-English summary
