The discusses the acquisition of narrative skills by Russian native children at the age of 2,7–7,6. The analysis is based on the data of 213 oral unprepared elicited narratives. During this period children develop the use of locative and temporal adverbs as markers of location and acquire their narrative functions. Narrative topic that is widely used at the age of 5 serves only as a means of narrative cohesion as it has no communicative functions within the utterance.
